ONLINE TRAINING

GOALS & PRIORITIES

FROM ANSWERS TO SENSEMAKING

Hey there!

We’re looking forward to seeing you in the online training Goals & Priorities, the next session in the wellbeing track.

It’s about deciding what comes first, which sounds practical and almost never is.

Planning is part of that, of course. But on the days when you genuinely can’t tell what matters most, it’s rarely because your list is wrong. It’s because something about the work itself has stayed vague: why it matters, what it should deliver, or when it’s good enough.

We work our way down, from your head to your gut. It begins in your brain, with what unclarity actually does to you and why an unclear week can leave you more tired than a busy one. Lower down sits your core, your stable centre, where four questions help you get a project sharp and work out what you still need to ask. Your guts come last, for the days when the clarity simply isn’t coming and you have to move anyway. What gets in your way then, and what gets you going.

We keep the groups small, so there is room to talk and to work on something real of your own. To make the session fit your reality, we’d love for you to answer three short questions in advance.

YOUR BACKSEAT
DRIVERS

An overview of the four voices that show up when things get unclear, with examples of how they sound at work.

You’ll use it to spot which one tends to get in the car with you.

YOUR FIRST
STEP

Six ways to keep moving when the clarity isn’t there, on one sheet, with room to write down what you’ll do and when.

This is the one you take home at the end.

THE CORE
BOOKLET

Four questions to get a project or task sharp: why it matters, what it should deliver, who contributes what, and when it is good enough. We fill it in together during the session, on a project of your own.

YOUR WELLBEING
JOURNEY

This session opens a new track in the wellbeing journey. Where the first track was about finding balance, quieting a busy head and holding your focus, this one turns to the work itself: your goals, your priorities, and what happens to both when a lot is unclear.

Your own manager follows a session on exactly this theme in the same period, built on the same model. So you will be speaking the same language, which is the whole point.

The next session in the track is about giving and receiving feedback. Later on, two more follow, on learning agility and on stress first aid.

SOMETHING TO REFLECT ON BEFORE WE START...

IT'S NOT A LIST PROBLEM

Most of us treat priorities as a planning question. A better list, a cleaner inbox, half an hour on Monday to put things in order. And that helps, it really does.

But notice what happens on the days when you honestly can’t tell what comes first. It’s usually not that your list is wrong. It’s that something about the work itself is unclear.

You can’t rank two tasks if you don’t know why one of them matters. You can’t tell what’s urgent if nobody said what the project is supposed to deliver. And you can’t call anything finished if it was never specified what good enough looks like.

There’s a second layer to it. Your brain spends the whole day predicting what comes next, and it budgets your energy on those predictions. When it has too little to go on, it fills the gaps with guesses and burns energy doing it. That’s part of why an unclear week leaves you more tired than a busy one.

So this session doesn’t start with your calendar. It starts with what happens in your head when you have too little to go on. From there we look at how you get a project sharp enough to choose, and at what you do on the days when that clarity simply isn’t coming.

One thing to try before the session: take a task you keep pushing forward. Instead of asking yourself when you’ll do it, ask what you’d need to know to be sure it’s worth doing now. That’s often the real reason it keeps moving.

See you soon!
