ONLINE TRAINING
FROM DOING TO LEADING
Hey there!
We’re looking forward to seeing you in ‘Operational Excellence Through People Leadership’, the first module of the Leadership Journey. In this interactive session, we’ll explore what leadership at Facil looks like through the lens of the Leadership COMPAS, and translate that into the behaviour and trust your team needs from you.
As a leader, you play a critical role in setting the tone for your team. In this session, you’ll step out of the daily run to look honestly at how you lead today, where your leadership lands, and where you want to lead differently. You’ll leave with a clearer view of your own leadership and one or two deliberate shifts you want to make in the weeks that follow.
With a small group of up to 12 participants, we’ll take a practical and hands-on approach.
The exercises for this training are shared below in advance, as sharing PDF files directly in Microsoft Teams chat can be challenging. Please download them ahead of time to ensure they are readily available during the session.
To help us tailor the session to your reality, we’d love for you to answer three short questions in advance. This will ensure we start fully aligned with where you stand today.
During the session we will work with the four dimensions of trust, first on someone you trusted, then on yourself. The worksheet is yours to keep. Return to it whenever you want a clearer view of how trust is built, in others or in your own leadership.
This is the exercise we will use to look at your own leadership balance across task, relation, and change. The same exercise can be repeated every few weeks. Where is your energy going today, and where do you want to shift it?
This module is the first of three in The Foundations, the opening track of the Leadership Journey.
Together they build a shared foundation for people leadership at Facil, anchored in the Leadership COMPAS.
We start by setting the framework, move on to creating direction and clarity, and end with the conversations that move your team forward.
There’s a reason we talk about leadership behaviour throughout this journey, and not leadership style.
Style is who you are. The rhythm you bring into a room, the tone in your conversations, the way you naturally approach people. It is built up over years and tightly woven into your identity.
That part stays. Your style is yours, and we want it to stay that way.
Behaviour is what you do in the moment. Step in or step back. Ask a question or give the answer. Set the priority or let it emerge. Behaviour can be observed, named, practised and shifted.
Think of a singer. The voice is theirs. They don’t change who they are when they sing. But in any song, they can choose to whisper, project, hold a note longer, or let it go. The voice stays. The choices change everything.
In this module, we take an honest look at the behaviours you put forward today, where they serve you and your team, and where you might want to shift just a little.
Curious to see how your own leadership shows up? See you soon in the session.
· Listen to understand and communicate clearly
A leader at Facil listens with genuine curiosity and respect to first understand all perspectives before speaking. When you communicate, do so in a simple, empathetic and factual way, ensuring clarity across cultures and teams.
· Take initiative and follow through
A leader at Facil takes ownership without taking over. You act with a can-do spirit, take initiative to move things forward, and entrust Fasteneers with their own responsibilities. You set clear expectations and follow through.
· Empower Fasteneers to grow and shine
A leader at Facil builds trust, delegates meaningful work, and actively coaches Fasteneers to develop their strengths. You make contributions visible, celebrate progress and share credit generously.
· Zoom out to see the bigger picture and act for shared success
A leader at Facil takes a global, company-wide perspective. You consider how decisions impact other teams and the organisation as a whole, connecting stakeholders across regions and silos.
· Stay agile and steady through changes
A leader at Facil looks ahead and constructively challenges the status quo. You act as a beacon of stability for your team, calm and agile, implementing the adaptations needed to navigate uncertainty.
· Build trust through carefrontation
A leader at Facil pairs honesty with care. You create psychological safety by giving and inviting clear, respectful feedback, and by owning outcomes. You model authenticity and support open dialogue so everyone, including yourself, can learn and improve together.
