THANK YOU!
FROM DOING TO LEADING
Hey there!
First of all, thank you for the work you brought to Module 1. In the session, we put the six elements of the COMPAS into actual behaviour for the first time.
In our three hours together we went back to the word leadership itself. Where it comes from, and what makes it different from power or position. We unpacked trust into four dimensions, and you held them up against your own behaviour. In the last block we looked at the three families of leadership behaviour and the balance you bring across them every week.
On this page you’ll find everything we worked with, plus a few things to take with you into the coming weeks.
Take the time you need. Some of what’s here is for the conversation with your manager. The rest is to keep the COMPAS within reach.
See you soon!
THE FIRST THING TO DO
This is the most important piece of post-work, because it travels with you out of this session and into a conversation that lasts much longer.
You filled in three questions at the end of Module 1. A takeaway, a trust focus, and a behaviour shift. Your manager has filled in the same three for themselves.
Bring your answers to your next one-to-one. You sit together as two leaders having a conversation about leadership, not one person reporting upwards. The point is to help each other land what each of you took from the session.
During the session you worked with the four dimensions of trust, first on someone you trusted, then on yourself. The worksheet is yours to keep. Return to it whenever you want a clearer view of how trust is built, in others or in your own leadership.
This is the exercise you used to look at your own leadership balance across task, relation, and change. The same exercise can be repeated every few weeks. Where is your energy going today, and where do you want to shift it?
Did you miss a detail or want to review the key takeaways? All the handouts are available here! They’re packed with valuable information and practical tips to help you get started right away.

WHAT’S NEXT
In September, we meet again for Module 2: Creating Direction and Clarity.
If Module 1 was about why leadership matters and what makes it trustworthy, Module 2 zooms in on one specific element of the Compas – Clarity. How you give direction to your team without taking over. How you set priorities they can actually feel. How you make expectations stick. How you instruct without micromanaging.
In the weeks between now and September, the most important step is the one you just took, the conversation with your manager. From there, you have time to live with what you took from Module 1, try things in your day-to-day, and notice where it lands and where it doesn’t.
